Dato’ Tony Khor ubiquitously appears in automotive news and industry discussions, serving as a transformative leader and key influencer in the Malaysian automotive sector. Renowned for his substantial contributions, he has played a pivotal role in elevating the industry to its current prominence.

His extensive experience extends across the ASEAN region, where Dato’ Khor is frequently invited to significant events in cities like Shanghai and Beijing. As a sought-after speaker, he shares invaluable insights into the automotive landscape and addresses critical issues that shape the industry. Regular appearances at the Macau International Car Trade Event further established Dato’ Khor’s expertise as he discussed the Non-Government ASEAN Automotive Economy. His engagements in Singapore and Thailand also highlight his role as a representative for Non-Government Chinese Organisations, reinforcing his influence in the sector.

A standout achievement includes the founding of eAuto in 2011, which revolutionised Malaysia’s vehicle ownership transfer process. This innovative platform has made transactions faster, safer, and more efficient. Over 1.5 million vehicle owners have benefited from eAuto, avoiding the hassle of visiting JPJ. Transaction volumes reached approximately 100,000 vehicles monthly. The introduction of this instant online biometric system improved user experience and saved the industry an estimated RM100 million annually, fundamentally disrupting traditional vehicle registration methods.

As president of the Federation of Motor & Credit Companies Association of Malaysia (FMCCAM), Dato’ Khor leads a network of over 4,500 members across 7,000 outlets. His respected engagement with government and regulatory bodies champions the interests of car dealers and consumers, facilitating significant improvements in Malaysia’s automotive trade landscape. FMCCAM serves as the official voice of car dealers throughout Malaysia, impressing with an established record of accomplishments and fair dealings. Officials from every regulatory agency that interacts with the car industry often welcome representatives of FMCCAM.

In 2019, Dato’ Khor founded ezAUTO, a total transformation solution and digital platform connecting vehicle owners to Malaysia’s network of car dealers. This platform assists car owners in selling their used cars online at the highest offer price in the shortest time. The Transport Ministry and eAuto extended considerable support and trust to ezAUTO’s initiative to enhance the industry’s transparency and create a user-friendly, secure marketplace for buyers and sellers, all within two years of its operations.

Dato’ Khor also co-founded eAutoGen Capital, the first company in ASEAN to offer extended warranty programmes for used cars up to 10 years old. These programmes provide full coverage for every component, matching warranties typically included with new vehicles. This innovative approach revolutionises the used car market, offering buyers a haven and alleviating concerns about costly repairs.

In addition to these ventures, Dato’ Khor is a director and chief executive officer of Berjaya Eco-Drive Sdn Bhd (Berjaya ED), a Berjaya Corp subsidiary. Recently, Berjaya ED announced that it would work with Skywell to establish Skywell as a prominent new energy vehicle (NEV) brand in Malaysia and ASEAN, catalysing NEV growth across the region. Dato’ Khor signed the memorandum with Skywell.

He is also a director of Berjaya Assembly Sdn Bhd, which is involved in vehicle assembly and the manufacturing and selling of engines and transmissions.
