The group, comprising seven subsidiaries and one associate company, offers a broad range of products, including metal roofing, C-purlins, trusses, piping, scaffolding, and agro-facilities. Astino manufactures steel pipes that meet international standards, including British Standards (BS), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS). Ng Back Teng, 76, leads Astino as executive chairman and managing director. Having completed his upper secondary education in 1967, Ng brings 25 years of international experience as a mining supervisor at British Phosphate Company Limited in Christmas Island, Australia, and as a production executive at Elson Engineering Company. His leadership significantly contributes to the growth of Astino’s metal roofing and awning products. Astino manufactures diverse C and Z-Purlins crafted from high-tensile zinc-coated structural-grade steel. Through the cold roll forming process, the company achieves exceptional consistency and accuracy in the dimensions of the sections. Astino supplies C and Z-Purlins to specified lengths, featuring pre-punched holes—either round or elongated on the webs—facilitating immediate installation on site.
The group also produces multi-truss and battens from high-quality structural-grade steel coated with TOC (Thermal Organic Coating) and Alluzinc to enhance durability and protect against corrosion, ensuring the longevity of the products. Astino provides technical support for roof truss layout design and roof frame detailing services, complete with load test analysis by BS 5950 Part 5, guaranteeing that the steel structures meet safety standards while promoting efficient design practices.
